Daily Mirror trip to Marina d’Erba Rossa, Corsica - Thomson Al Fresco Blog
Ian Sturgess from the Daily Mirror recently visited one of our new parcs, Marina d’Erba Rossa, in Corsica, and here’s what he thought:
We spent half-term week at the Marina d’Erba Rossa site at Ghisonaccia with Thomson Al Fresco. Fully recommend the Rossini Riviera mobile home which is fully equipped for a self-catering stay with en-suite shower room, air con and even a dishwasher (which we didn’t use) in the kitchen! Outside there’s a decking area with large dining table and chairs, plus loungers and a barbie.
The campsite is full of mature trees, so there’s lots of green around and it’s comfortable and shady. We even had a blackbird nesting under the eaves! The on-site facilities are very good with a great, child-friendly swimming pool right by the beautiful white sand beach. There are small shops on site, plus a bar and restaurant. In fact, the only downside for us – with small children who needed to get to sleep – was the level of noise at night from the local discos. Lots of sites across Europe have a 10pm curfew after which no vehicle movement is allowed on site, and loud music is banned. But equally I’m sure many families enjoy the musical ‘animations’ and accept this as part of the holiday package.
In general, we fell in love with Corsica for its unspoilt, unhurried beauty. The combination of clean, sandy beaches and stunning mountain village scenery was breathtaking and we’d definitely love to go back, this time to explore the west side of the island. Whether you are travelling alone or have a family with kids, Corsica is certainly somewhere that should be on your list of must-see places.
