Celeb-spotting at Cannes Film Festival 2011 - Thomson Al Fresco Blog
11th-22nd May is Cannes Film Festival. Wow! We managed to take a bit of time off together, to visit the town the other day. Celebrity mayhem! Unfortunately we missed the main events, (a rep’s life is a VERY busy one), but the general atmosphere was “interesting” to say the least. The Old Harbour was bursting at the seams with 4,000 press people – but we had to go and take a look! We’d really recommend you book for next year.
We are thoroughly enjoying Colombier. This year it has a brand new tourist information site just next to our mobile home, near Reception. There is internet (with about 10pcs) and a games room – all in new accommodation with thatched type roofs next to the kids’ playground. Daisy, from Belgium, is head of Animation. She and her assistant are proficient in English, French, German and Dutch, and probably more. They have been organising things for the over-5s since the end of April, and will continue. (Unfortunately they can’t take under-5s.) There are pony rides and they organise games at the pool etc.
Daisy knows everything about the area (even more than us ) and can book excursions for you. It’s all very new and they are so enthusiastic. They are really making a go of things with a full kids’ programme. Also evening entertainment for older kids and adults. Watch this space and we will send you next week’s programme to get a better idea.
